Your complimentary consultation
Every orthodontic journey begins with an evaluation by an experienced orthodontist. This is one of the most important appointments you’ll have with our team! It gives us the chance to get to know a bit about each other and discuss any concerns you have about your smile. One of our expert orthodontists will also perform a thorough examination and answer any questions you have about your diagnosis or the treatment process.
Whether you choose our Little Rock, Benton, or Bryan office, you’ll be warmly welcomed! After introducing you to some of our team members, we’ll give you a brief tour of the office to help you relax and feel more comfortable with your surroundings. We’ll then collect something we call diagnostic records, which generally include digital photographs and x-rays of your teeth and overall bite.
These images give us a better look at what’s happening beneath the surface of your smile by showing us your teeth, soft tissues, and underlying bone. This allows a deeper understanding of your oral health and allows us to create a customized treatment plan for your unique needs.
At this point, we’ll review your medical and dental histories, then introduce you to one of our orthodontists. They’ll listen to your concerns before performing a thorough oral examination. This pain-free look into your mouth will help us identify any orthodontic issues that may need attention, whether now or in the future.
Finally, we’ll sit down with you to discuss our findings and any treatment recommendations. It’s important to us that you don’t feel as though you’re being rushed through your appointments, especially this first one! Your consultation will normally last about an hour, giving us plenty of time to perform the exam, discuss your diagnosis, and address any questions you may have at this point. We’ll also cover other important topics like:
- any oral issues you are experiencing
- if treatment is recommended right away
- what treatment options are available to you
- an estimate of how long we expect your treatment to take
- the total investment required for your new smile
- any payment or financing options we offer

The financial side of orthodontic treatment can be confusing, but we do our best to simplify it as much as possible. Investing in your oral health has many benefits, and we believe everyone should be able to access the high-quality orthodontic care they need. If you have dental insurance that will cover any portion of your orthodontic treatment, our office staff will be happy to help you with claims and paperwork.
What comes next?
After your initial consultation, we’ll schedule your first appointment. This is typically the day your braces will be placed or you will receive your first aligner. This takes an hour or so most of the time, and you’ll have access to our team throughout should you have any questions or concerns. We do all we can to make this appointment comfortable and stress-free for you!
Whatever the treatment plan, regular visits are an important part of the process. You’ll be scheduled to see your orthodontist about every 6-10 weeks, and we’ll use this time to check that treatment is progressing as it should be and adjust your appliance if necessary.
We do our best to schedule these appointments for a day and time that’s convenient for you, but we know that life can sometimes be unpredictable! If you’re running late or can’t make your appointment for any reason, let us know as soon as possible so we can reschedule for you. This will keep your treatment on track!
